This warrior is presented in the typical outfit of a warrior from Benin: he wears a coral choker that marks him as a dignitary of the Benin court, a sash-like coral necklace around his upper body, a wrap-around skirt with stiff appendage held by an ivory mask, a spear and a shield. Only the helmet is somewhat uncommon, usually only seen in connection with messenger figures from Benin.
