Angelika Böcks Installationen "StillePost" von 1999 und "Seek Me" von 2005 kontrastieren 'westliche' Porträts mit den Darstellungsverfahren von Kulturen, die eine lebendige mündliche Tradition besitzen. Westliche Verfahren der Installationskünstlerin wie Photographie und Tonaufzeichnung treten bei "StillePost"  in einen Dialog mit rituellen Schnitztechniken der Elfenbeinküste. In direkter Fortsetzung dieses Ansatzes finden bei "Seek Me" Angelika Böcks fotografische Porträts von Sami-SängerInnen aus Norwegen, Schweden und Finnland ihre Antwort in den gesungenen 'Porträts', welche die MusikerInnen über die deutsche Künstlerin anfertigten. Die Versuchsanordnungen stellen verschiedene kulturelle Abbildungspraktiken nicht einfach nebeneinander, sondern sie verschränken unterschiedliche Sinnstiftungsprozesse und schaffen spannungsreiche technische Mischformen, die sich zwischen den Kulturen ansiedeln.

STILLEPOST This installation comprises five portraits sculpted in wood and five photographic portraits printed on fabric. SEEK ME This sound and image installation consists of five projection surfaces that form a pentagonal space without allowing the projections to come into direct contact with each other.
